Dan is DLR Group's Global Engineering Leader and a member of the firm’s executive leadership team. He engages DLR Group's professionals worldwide in planning and implementing integrated design and project delivery. He collaborates with market and practice leaders in the firm to advance strategies, best practices, and quality assurance to design buildings and spaces that are beautiful, sustainable, and efficient.

Dan has led the growth of DLR Group's Building Optimization practice. This practice drives invention in how buildings are constructed and used to dramatically reduce energy consumption. Building Optimization services include passive design strategies; design and engineering for high-performance buildings and net-zero facilities; design of onsite renewable energy systems; commissioning and retro-commissioning.
Dan began his engineering career in 1993 with a focus on civil and structural engineering and has experience across all DLR Group markets. His recent work includes leading design of on-site solar and renewable energy systems at FedExField, home of the Washington Redskins, and at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles for Fortune 500 energy provider NRG Energy. He also collaborated with the Marysville (Wash.) School District to help design the sustainable Marysville Getchell Campus.
