Dave is a project manager who specializes in sports venues that respond to the unique needs of each program. He is able to balance good design with solid technical knowledge for solutions that enhance the student-athlete, coach, and spectator experience.
His natural ability to connect with people results in long-standing, trusting relationships with clients and design teams alike. He thrives in a collaborative working environment where everyone has a voice in the design process.
“Sports architecture is the perfect blend of being able to provide highly-specialized expertise while not being pigeon-holed into doing the same thing day after day. I enjoy being able to engage with everyone from coaches and student-athletes to administrators and operations staff to create a comprehensive vision that will best serve the program both now and in the future.”
Dave’s favorite project is the Nebraska Athletic Performance Lab, a world-leading research and educational facility focusing on the performance enhancement, safety, and long-term well-being of athletes. Under his leadership, the design team delivered a cutting-edge laboratory where athletics, academics, and private-sector research come together to capture a scientific view of each sport.
“The Nebraska Athletic Performance Lab is a true example of integrated design where the client came to us with an idea, not a program. We worked collaboratively to meld their ideas for performance sports analytics with technology to create a facility that did not previously exist anywhere in the world.”
