"I admire the next generation of design professionals I work with in Chicago, and within the firm. I am amazed at their technical skills and willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver a project."
Since joining DLR Group in 1992, Dennis has developed an expertise in K-12 education design, collaborating with dozens of school districts to elevate education in their communities. He has a keen understanding of the entire educational facility planning, programming, and design process. As a project leader, he has a unique ability to listen to school clients and recognize the critical path issues that many local school districts face. His teams address these needs through design and the maximization of space and budget to support both the current and future learning needs of each student.
"I take great satisfaction in knowing that I make a difference in the lives of students. I enjoy the process of building consensus by working closely with all user groups to develop functional, responsive, and cost-effective solutions."
Dennis successfully led the design team of Metea Valley High School for the Indian Prairie School District #204 that received multiple awards from education user groups and the design profession. He also is leading the renovation of the historic Chicago Vocational Career Academy for Chicago Public Schools. (http://cvcacademy.org)
