“I find satisfaction in design solutions that enhance both the experience of building occupants and the economic vitality of the community.”
Gary has a passion for the contribution that architects can make toward the built environment and to the communities in which we work, live and play.
He excels at leading public-sector clients through project definition, strategic planning, programming, and planning studies. He’s worked extensively in the Civic and Education sectors, designing and delivering a diverse array of projects, from institutional projects to large office complexes to small office renovations. In every instance, he guides clients through the process of translating pre-design concepts into tangible projects.
“The Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studios project – the CAPS Building – is one of my favorite projects. We were afforded the opportunity to integrate and align the building design with the Blue Valle School District’s curriculum design process. It was truly a synergistic effort between a client and architect.”
Gary is a past-president of both AIA Kansas City and AIA Kansas, and was the 2016 recipient of the Henry W. Schirmer Distinguished Service Award from AIA Kansas. He is a member of the Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area Board of Directors and the Overland Park (Kan.) Chamber Foundation Board.
