As an educator and an advocate for community based design, Jose Brunner has experience on numerous Bay Area projects. From non-profit tenant improvements and multifamily affordable housing projects to residential landscape designs and neighborhood parks, Jose carries projects from concept through completion with most of his efforts concentrated in the construction document and construction administration phases. He brings a diverse perspective to coordinating and facilitating public workshops and charrettes with neighborhood partners to provide creative community-based design solutions.
“Practicing architecture is equal to writing about a city’s place in history. As a designer, it is thrilling to play a role in the construction of our urban environment.”
With a passion for collaboration, Jose works across multiple disciplines in the construction of projects in the residential, transportation, and commercial markets, providing thoughtful, innovative and efficient designs and details, portrayed through his concise diagrams and renders.
“My favorite part of the design process is visiting the site and engaging with the construction managers and sub-contractors. Watching the building come together is the most formative part of the design process.”
