“The best piece of advice I have received is: ‘always listen to the client’s needs; it will set the tone of a trusting relationship for the entire project.’ I believe listening allows designers to create spaces that occupants love, cherish and appreciate.”

Ken has more than a decade of experience planning, programming and designing facilities that meet the educational needs of students, educators and local communities across Iowa. As a supporter of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) initiative, he is taking a leadership role to help districts and universities across the state expand STEM offerings to students as they prepare for local careers.

Ken serves as a project leader for a variety of small and large scale projects ranging from new construction to renovations and modernizations. He has a keen eye for detail and is committed to implementing sustainable design solutions that benefit both the client and the planet.

“The future of sustainable design is educating the public. Architects, engineers and designers understand sustainable design practice and college graduates in the field have a dynamic education that has been infused with these principles. If we can harness that by educating the general population, we will better the world for generations to come.”
