Mark is a retail design expert and is DLR Group's Middle East Regional Leader. Mark brings a wide range of project experience from retail and mixed use design, building delivery, master planning for large developments, entitlements, city coordination and client representation.
“I find it very exciting with the growth of DLR’s global presence and the ability/opportunity/chance to bring our large project experience to bear on our domestic work and vice versa for sharing of the latest trends that are driving our projects.”
Mark works with the international team, building DLR Group's design resume and reputation in Middle East and Africa. This work includes the Mall of the Emirates in the U.A.E. with their major expansion of the mall as well as the mixed-use Seawoods project in Maharashtra, India; retail projects Fountain Square and White City Mall in Baku, Azerbaijan; our outdoor destination retail project Kings Walk in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; and our large master plan development in Asia through a Emirati client. Mark leads DLR Group’s team in pursuing projects throughout the region with mixed use opportunities in Saudi Arabia; Abu Dhabi, UAE; and Cairo, Egypt. He also works very closely with DLR Group’s Nairobi office for collaboration opportunities.
“I had the great opportunity to grow up and travel throughout Asia. Europe, and the Middle East. Now working in Dubai and bridging the gap from our work in the US, I appreciate the cultural influences on the practice of architecture and how as profession we incorporate our expertise into a regional context. I am excited by the opportunities we see in the region and building new relationships.”
Mark is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, American Institute of Architects, and Middle East Council of Shopping Centers.
