“My job is to tenaciously drive for integrated high-performance architecture because we owe it to our clients, users, and the environment to design and build responsibly.”
Mary knew at a young age that she would devote her career to designing educational facilities that help shape the future for students of all ages. She collaborates daily with school districts in California to design innovative, high-performing educational environments that enhance the user experience and maximize efficiency.
Her favorite project is the Neal Dow Elementary School for Chico Unified School District. It features flexible group learning breakout spaces, operates as a teaching tool, and has the school’s beloved mascot—a dragon—deeply and wholly embedded in the design concept and details.
“As the child of a contractor/inspector father and a crafty professional volunteer mother, my childhood was surrounded by tools, drawings, handmade objects, and social responsibility that has instilled a keen interest in design, building sustainably, and an understanding of the necessary balance of poetry and precision in the built environment.”
