Mike is a registered architect with experience in educational, justice and corporate facility design. He was a key member of design teams for two projects that are a signature part of the Omaha skyline, the $181 million CenturyLink Center and the Roman L. Hruska Federal Courthouse. For the Hruska Federal Courthouse, Mike worked closely with the U.S. Marshals regarding building and site security. Other examples of his work include the Jackie D. Gaughan Multi-Cultural Center in Lincoln and schools for Gretna, Norris, Springfield School Districts.    

Mike demonstrates a passionate commitment to sustainable design. He was honored as the USGBC Nebraska Flatwater Chapter Volunteer of the Year in 2013 for his efforts to instill and promote sustainable design. He has been chair of the Nebraska's Green Schools Committee for the USGBC, and a member of Omaha's Green Education Council. In the Omaha office, Mike champions the firm's efforts for AIA's 2030 Commitment, working with design teams to further aims of Architecture 2030 in pursuit of carbon neutrality in building design by 2030. He also is a past president of the American Institute of Architects Omaha Chapter.  

"My hobbies and personal time mostly deal with sustainability. I am working on enhancing the Loess Hills native grasslands in Iowa. I also have a lot of fun playing with used cooking oil to make biodiesel."
