Design Achievement – The vibrant design of the new AC Hotel Raleigh will connect both travelers and local residents with the rich urban context of the North Hills neighborhood and its many public amenities. DLR Group designers are collaborating with Marriott to create a true local experience while delivering the high-style environment and European sophistication that defines the AC Hotels by Marriott brand. The AC Hotel Raleigh utilizes a sky lobby and amenity floor at the top of the building as focal point of the design. A dynamic architectural overhang engages guests from the entry, vertically along a glass elevator, and out to the covered roof deck. The open plan of the amenity floor offers panoramic views of this urban mixed-use setting. Large floor to ceiling guestroom windows activate the building and give it the clean lined, refined architecture indicative of the AC Hotels by Marriott brand. 

Scope Summary – The new AC Hotel Raleigh is a 7-story, 133-room urban hotel located in the heart of Raleigh’s North Hills development. The ground floor activates the busy street frontage with 2,000 SF of retail, a covered drop-off, and most of the support space for the property. The design delivers the signature elements of the AC Hotels by Marriott brand including the AC Hotels by Marriott Lounge, connected meeting spaces, a European breakfast and buffet, and large fitness room. The hotel also features a sky lobby concept, ample social spaces, and a rooftop pool and outdoor roof deck. DLR Group provided architecture, interior design, engineering, energy modeling and commissioning services.
