Design Achievement - This renovation project repurposes two existing buildings to catalyze cultural change to align with Boeing's evolved business mission. The client's central goal was to increase collaboration between diverse workers. DLR Group's design responds to distinct workplace vision, goals and objectives determined during a deep-dive "Discovery Process". Workspace layouts arrange each of this group's departments according to valuable interdepartmental affinities; provide heads-down workspace for concentration-intensive work; and offer multiple types of conferencing spaces, breakout areas, and collaboration centers. The design dramatically transforms these existing facilities, not only extending their useful life, but enabling the advancement of business practice and workplace effectiveness.

Scope Summary - The Discovery Process, an exploration of existing work methods, cultural values, visions for future success allowed us to design to support the business practices fulfilling them. Subsequent renovation work included 276,000 SF of office space in two two-story buildings including: private offices, open office areas, conferencing and videoconferencing centers, cafes, security, and support spaces. Exterior renovations to both buildings included façade cleaning, new glazing, and new entry canopies. DLR Group provided architecture, interiors, and engineering services.
