Design Achievement - As Red Bull entered Dallas with a new regional office, they sought a “non-corporate” environment to recruit top talent and entertain clients. DLR Group|Staffelbach’s design focuses on hospitality to deliver a non-traditional, energized workspace as promotional venue. Here, employees work and receive on-site training, clients have a seat at the central bar, and the community gets connected to the brand at frequent events – the space operates day and night. In lieu of traditional office furniture, the design takes the brand’s slogan to heart with custom workstations and a high-impact curved reception desk made of airplane metals and inspired by wings. A material palette of wire brushed reclaimed wood, brick, concrete, and steel responds to the clients desire for a gritty, urban loft setting that belies its location within a corporate office tower. Red Bull extreme sports events and competitions happening world-wide live-stream on numerous screens throughout the space.
Scope Summary - The 14,000 SF workplace was delivered for a per square foot cost well below average, despite integrating custom furniture and designing for visual impact. The primarily open plan allowed a greater level of flexibility when transitioning from business to training to entertaining. The focal bar’s entertainment function is supported by a DJ booth and catering kitchen. Sound masking measures, including acoustical wood ceiling clouds, white noise, and a centralized music system, were incorporated to help employees maintain their focus in the multi-use space. DLR Group|Staffelbach provided full interior design services from predesign through construction administration including space planning, test fits, mockups, bespoke furniture design and specification, security, environmental graphics, and technology coordination.
