Design Achievement - The new Delivery Center at North Boeing Field fulfills the client’s goal to immerse VIP’s in a world-class customer experience of taking ownership of history’s best-selling commercial jetliner: the 737. DLR Group's design unites a campus of three buildings to create a singular moment of welcome to customers with direct lines of sight to the aircraft beyond. Flight functions, Logistic functions, Operation functions, and Delivery functions are delineated by contrasting formal and material treatments. Processing through the center builds the customer’s confidence from shaking Boeing’s hand at the door; awe when they come inside and connect with the airplane; pride as they board for takeoff; and conviction that they’ll come back to Boeing for their next plane. The delivery experience responds directly to the airplane: lifting off the ground, turning to face the stall. The architecture creates immediate connection to Boeing’s brand in form, materials, and signage. Interiors draw attention to the star of the show: the airplane outside. Strategic choices in transparency, light, form, and lines of sight reinforce this focus. While the building fulfills the needs of diverse users, it does so while never losing sight of emphasis on the customer experience of aircraft delivery. 

Scope Summary - The scope of work included the renovation of 45,000 square feet and the new construction of 100,000 square feet, connecting three buildings. Delivery event space is supported by a catering kitchen, conference rooms, departure lounges and an outdoor viewing balcony and roof deck. DLR Group provided architecture, interiors services, and engineering.
