Faced with a firehose of data from myriad sources at their disposal, AEC firms and their clients have become far more discerning about what they collect, use, and disseminate. Firms say they’re trying to avoid falling down a “rabbit hole” that either buries them in information overload or sends them off on wild goose chases.
DLR Group has formalized its platform for post-occupancy evaluation in order to “close the loop” between design, construction, and operations, says Ruairi Barnwell, principal. DLR Group’s ultimate goal is to create an evidence-based library for this practice that enables the firm to hit its carbon-neutral targets for 2030.
