Design for Natural History Museum Evokes Glaciers and Waters of Great Lakes
The glacier that carved the Cuyahoga Valley melted about 10,000 years ago. But it’s returning, at least in fragmentary form, in a new vision for the renovation and expansion of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
“Our whole landscape in effect is shaped by water, by the impact of glaciers and water,’’ says DLR Group|WRL Senior Principal Paul Westlake, FAIA. “The building is an interpretation of that fact.”
DLR Group acquired Westlake Reed Leskosky in September 2016. Today, the combined design expertise and resources of Westlake Reed Leskosky and DLR Group serve clients as a global, integrated design firm committed to elevating the human experience through design.
