- What: Amplifying Underrepresented Voices Through Placekeeping.
Join DLR Group Associate and campus planner Linsey Graff, alongside Arizona State University representatives, for this session on placekeeping. As populations on campuses become more diverse, institutions are pondering how to support, celebrate, and represent all campus users. The design and planning process, partnerships, and open dialogue can amplify underrepresented voices on the campus in order to formulate solutions. This session will review a placekeeping initiative by Arizona State University’s Indigenous students. Through the panel’s experience, processes, and research, this session will lay out a framework for institutions interested in integrating and implementing equitable and inclusive planning and design on their campuses. This session provides specific actions institutions can implement. Attendees can earn AIA LU/HSW 1.0 unit (SCUPP19C46) and AICP CM 1.0 unit.
