Chris Bell has worked around the world on large-scale design and development projects. His expertise includes master planning and design for new communities and towns; urban neighborhood development and regeneration; and high-profile headquarters and high-rise buildings. Part of what makes Chris a highly-regarded designer of large-scale places is his talent in organizing ideas and human-scale considerations of livability, workability, sustainability, and economic viability in alignment with the owners' and clients' needs and goals for their projects.
“Design is not an exercise in willfulness. It should serve purpose and move forward the position of the stakeholders. It is the result of understanding the goals and constraints of a situation. Nothing is more useful in this pursuit than integrated design, and no firm I know is more integrated than DLR Group.”
Chris graduated from the University of Southern California in 1992 where he studied Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning. He has resided and worked in Prague, Dublin, London, Los Angeles and Seattle, where he grew up. He has led teams to achieve national awards for architecture and master planning.
