Matt is DLR Group's Creative Services Leader, responsible for in-house graphic design supporting operations, brand communications and marketing, and other internal stakeholders across the firm. He works with individuals and teams as an advisor and collaborator in storytelling; a partner in developing communications strategies; and a hands-on graphic designer and writer.
His approach emphasizes content first: the story that a creative piece of collateral needs to tell to connect with its audience in a desired way.
"Any piece of communications has to start with the audience. What do you want them to do or think about when your piece connects with them? Our creative choices are then all about fulfilling that goal in an on-brand way."
Matt also worked directly with clients in environmental branding and graphics design. He has worked with Google to develop environmental graphics evoking unique spatial themes aligned with Googler interests in spaces across the Kirkland campus. He also worked with energy services provider NRG to refine and implement its new branding through multiple environmental graphics packages at professional sports stadiums, as well as a rollout program for new electric vehicle charging stations. And In K-12 education, he has provided environmental graphics with recent emphasis in sustainability signage.
