Taryn is a native Texan who has successfully led the strategy, visioning, planning, and design of more than two million SF of learning space nationally and internationally. She enjoys sharing knowledge from her experiences and creating connections to implement exceptional learning environments.
“The success of any community is directly linked to quality engagement of learners across the age spectrum. Well-designed facilities can not only improve efficiency and lower operating costs, but they can also elevate the learning experience.”
During Taryn’s 15 years of developing facilities to support new educational models she has seen her clients face increasingly complex challenges. Taryn joins her clients in their journey to define unique responses to external and internal challenges through evidence-based practice. She incorporates current developmental research, environmental psychology, and organizational psychology to design facilities that respond to human learning and behavior.
“Deeply engaging stakeholders, building synergy around a strategic direction, and aligning the built environment to support all users’ success are critical to a transformative project.”
Taryn regularly presents to national audiences at industry events about visioning for student-centered and future-ready facilities, including SXSWedu, National School Boards Association annual conference, Association for Learning Environments annual conference and regional educational events throughout Texas.
