Vicki leads a team of laboratory planning and design professionals serving federal, healthcare, higher education, K-12 education, and workplace clients. She is an advocate for LEAN design theory and process, and has designed research and lab facilities for academic, advanced technology, healthcare, medical device, and corporate and non-profit research and development clients.
“Lab facilities are technical projects; very detail-oriented, generally unique in many ways, and often hazardous, requiring close coordination between the architecture and engineering. DLR Group’s commitment to integrated design is the perfect process to deliver high-performance laboratory planning and design for clients globally.”
Her portfolio includes expertise in the planning, programming, and design of analytical and clinical laboratories, as well as medical center, academic research, and biotechnology facilities. She specializes in designing modern research environments that support flexible spaces to facilitate learning, encourage collaboration among users, and foster scientific discoveries.
Vicki is well-known and respected within the industry, and currently serves as vice president of the Colorado Chapter of the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL), a leadership role that allows her to share best practices in lab planning and design with industry practitioners. She is a regular judge of the Lab of the Year competition hosted by R&D Magazine and Laboratory Design, and has presented at national conferences, including Lab Design and Tradelines.
