Building Performance Design

Building performance design encompasses daylighting simulation, energy modeling, mechanical systems simulation, natural ventilation analysis, and thermal comfort studies to quantify performance. Solutions are evaluated using a multi-year framework that considers embodied energy in water use, fuel cost, greenhouse gas emissions, operations and maintenance costs, and peak utility demand. The building performance design team includes ASHRAE certified Building Energy Modeling Professionals and High-Performance Building Design Professionals; Certified Energy Managers; licensed engineers; and LEED APs and WELL APs. This team uses robust modeling and analysis tools including IES Virtual Environment to optimize building system design for owners and facility teams.
