Design Achievement - With the merger of internationally-recognized law firms Norton Rose and Fulbright Jaworski, came the need to accommodate expected growth and define a visual brand that exemplifies the firm’s values of quality, unity, and integrity as Norton Rose Fulbright. DLR Group|Staffelbach’s design guides the brand into a new future that introduces amenities attractive to a younger demographic while preserving the firm’s shared traditional roots. The firm’s 10-plus member office committee provided design feedback representing diverse cultural perspectives. The design team’s focus on consensus-based decision making ensures that the resulting design truly embodies the needs and vision of the firm’s current and future leaders. While transparency was quickly identified as key, it needed to be counterbalanced by the utmost respect for client confidentiality, which translates to privacy for counselors and opposing counsel and security for storage and sensitive materials. Clerestory glass atop the wood paneled private office walls brings natural light into the space’s core, while reducing the counselors’ feelings of isolation. With a sleek and clean design, the upscale space features a marble-clad entrance, off which branch collaborative meeting spaces. The bright and airy modernity of the lobby is representative of the cleanlined, youthful aesthetic that carries through the remaining floors.

Scope Summary - The 120,000 SF four-floor workplace included a full tenant construction including upgraded amenities. Specialty work included the coordination of branded lobby artwork: an etched glass wall pinpoints the locations of the firm across the globe and reinforces the unity of the newly merged firm. Private counselor offices, upgraded secretary stations, and heightened storage security emphasize the firm’s reputation of high integrity. DLR Group|Staffelbach provided full interior design services from predesign and programming to construction administration.

DLR Group acquired Staffelbach in August 2017. Today, the combined design expertise and resources of Staffelbach and DLR Group serve clients as a global, integrated design firm committed to elevating the human experience through design.
