Design Achievement – The continued growth of fan interest in Cactus League Spring Training encouraged the City of Tempe and the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority to fund significant renovations and improvements to the Diablo Stadium Complex, home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. DLR Group's fast-track design and close coordination with the construction manager, Angels' representatives, and the City enabled the design team to accommodate the owner's completion date for the opening of the Spring Training. Though there were no plans for an enhancement to the entrance of the facility, the design team was able to anticipate the need and accept an expanded scope to create a new entrance with a traditional baseball feel while still meeting the project schedule.

Scope Summary – The scope of this 120,000 SF improvement project encompassed a new master planning effort and amenities such as a renovated major league clubhouse, a new minor league clubhouse, additional practice fields and batting tunnels, interactive large-scale graphics and media displays, improved and additional entrances and a modern, graphic-intensive scoreboard. DLR Group expedited delivery to ensure construction completion in the nine month window between spring training seasons. DLR Group provided integrated architecture; structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering; and landscape architecture services for this project.
