Design Achievement – Cardinal Group's University Towers is a housing community serving University Texas at Austin and Austin Community College students. DLR Group's design supports Cardinal Group's mission to give students resort-style amenities and experience of space. The renovation features an updated and welcoming lobby with pool and ping pong tables, a cyber cafe and lounge conveying the Austin vibe. The expanded fitness center showcases state of the art equipment and a large view out to the pool deck which brings in natural daylight and a connection to the outdoors. The leasing office features a mock suite showing standard and luxury suite options such as kitchen appliances, lighting and furniture upgrades. The roof deck design provides the property with amenities that are hard to come by such as a raised tanning deck, cabanas, lounge seating around the fire place, a TV bar and an observation deck with a view of Austin second to none.

Scope Summary – The scope at University Towers included complete renovation of the common areas, housing spaces, fitness center, and administrative spaces. The design used modern finishes, improved user amenities, and enhanced access to technology throughout the common spaces, and also upgraded core mechanical systems.
