Design Achievement – Flexibility is one of the major design considerations as the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) rapidly evolves in terms of technology and scope. The Transit Management Center is designed to accommodate future expansion with minimal disruption. The design team worked with the system integrator to develop the phasing plan for migration and cut-over of existing systems to ensure continuity of service during the move-in process.

Scope Summary - The scope of this project delivered a 40,000 SF, state-of-the-art transit management center, integrating various SFMTA operations into one facility. The project included a 1.7-mile extension of the subway system from AT&T Park into the Financial District and Chinatown to provide needed transportation options and alleviate over-crowding one of San Francisco's busiest bus routes. DLR Group provided programming, and master planning design services.
