Acoustic Equity in Performance Spaces: Measurement Results at Wheelchair Accessible Seating Positions | May 22nd, 7:45 AM – 8:05 AM
Associate and Acoustic Designer Steph Ahrens, PE presents a review of research on acoustic equity in performance spaces, focusing on acoustic parameters in wheelchair space and general patron seats. The goal of this session is to identify trends in the built environment for equitable acoustic experiences. Participants will explore acoustic equity, research methods, challenges, and future research of acoustics.

Following the New Orleans meeting, David will assume the Chair of the Technical Committee on Architectural Acoustics role, serving a 3-year term. The Technical Committee on Architectural Acoustics serves as the focus for interested ASA members and guests at biannual meetings, planning future technical sessions, as well as coordinating and supporting activities such as the Classroom Acoustics Task Group, the Concert Hall Research Group, ASA poster book publications, and other important initiatives in architectural acoustics.
