A passionate advocate for design culture and mentorship, Castro served as National Vice President of the American Institute of Architecture Students and chaired the AIA Diversity Advancement Scholarship Jury. His leadership extends beyond projects; he champions collaboration, storytelling, and inclusive design strategies that enhance human experience.

Castro holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and has numerous honors, including a national AIA Healthcare Design Award, along with several additional design awards for his contributions to higher education and medical projects. Recognized as an industry expert, he is a frequent speaker at national conferences such as SCUP and The Center for Health Design, sharing insights on the intersection of mental health and architecture.
