Olathe Public Schools Innovation Campus Ribbon Cutting Marks New Era for CTE
(Olathe, Kan., Feb. 19, 2026) – Olathe Public Schools hosted a ribbon cutting for the Olathe Public Schools Innovation Campus on February 19, marking a significant milestone in the district’s commitment to future-ready education. DLR Group’s design transforms a former call center into a dynamic campus dedicated to career and technical education and district operations facility located along the I-35 corridor.
The adaptive reuse of the building not only revitalizes a previously underutilized site but also positions Olathe Public Schools as a leader in innovative, sustainable education. The OPSIC stands as a testament to the district’s vision for empowering students and strengthening community partnerships for generations to come.
The OPSIC brings together a diverse range of programs under one roof, including Animal Science & Research, Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, E-sports, Electronics & Avionics, Emergency Medical Services, and Healthcare Science. The facility features 200,000 SF of renovated space and a 60,000-SF addition, providing students with access to specialized labs, collaborative learning environments, and a centralized career commons. These spaces foster autonomy, encourage hands-on learning, and connect students directly with industry partners.
A key feature of the campus is its conferencing and career commons area, which will host job fairs, interviews, and industry events, creating direct pathways from classroom to career. An addition that houses the district’s new Operations Service Center creates a living lab where students in the construction pathway contribute directly to the maintenance and service of facilities district-wide. Other offerings include education programs for adults aged 18-21, the district’s mental health services, and professional development spaces.
