2025 Climate Risk Report
In December 2025, Greenplaces, a recognized ESG reporting consultancy, prepared an objective report to prepare DLR Group for compliance under California’s Climate-Related Financial Risk Act (SB 261), using the globally recognized Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework. Our goal: to transparently assess climate-related risks and opportunities and strengthen resilience across our operations.
What We Did
We analyzed both physical risks, like extreme heat, flooding, and wildfires, and transition risks, like evolving regulations, market expectations, and technology shifts. Using climate models for moderate (RCP 4.5) and high-emission (RCP 8.5) scenarios, we evaluated potential impacts across short (2025), medium (2030), and long-term (2050) horizons. Each office location was screened for hazards and rated for risk severity and likelihood.
What We Found
We determined that no material climate risks currently threaten our business model. As a professional services firm, our exposure to physical impacts is limited. However, we recognize that certain risks including extreme heat and coastal flooding may intensify over time, especially under high-emission scenarios. Transition risks, including new carbon regulations and client expectations, remain a focus.
Our Response
Resilience is embedded in our governance and strategy – environmental stewardship is one of our core values. Climate oversight occurs at board, executive, and management levels, supported by a dedicated Climate+Environment leadership team and champions at a local level across our global practice. We maintain climate literacy educational programs, site-specific continuity plans, robust insurance coverage, and proactive monitoring of emerging legislation. Beyond risk mitigation, we see opportunity: advancing low-carbon design, innovating with sustainable materials, and attracting top talent through climate leadership.
Our Commitments
We disclose Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions annually and are committed to industry-leading initiatives like AIA 2030, SE 2050, and MEP 2040. These commitments reflect our long-term vision to design a better, more resilient world.
