Design for Natural History Museum Evokes Glaciers and Waters of Great Lakes

The glacier that carved the Cuyahoga Valley melted about 10,000 years ago. But it’s returning, at least in fragmentary form, in a new vision for the renovation and expansion of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

“Our whole landscape in effect is shaped by water, by the impact of glaciers and water,’’ says Senior Principal Paul Westlake, FAIA. “The building is an interpretation of that fact.”

Cleveland.com has the more on the design, revealing what is to come for the museum and community.
