K12 Interiors Concepts for “Stimulating Architecture”

In a January 2022 publication of Essentials, DLR Group Senior Principal Pam Loeffelman, FAIA, dives into the impact of facility design on education quality and showcases best practices implemented in the U.S. Virgin Island’s master plan.

Beginning in March of 2017, a team of DLR Group designers began to question whether a connection could be established between the design of a school building and academic engagement. Now, with the input of over 7,000 students and 700 educators, the depth of this connection has been demonstrated. When examined, this research has proved key factors in engagement for students and teachers.

Learn more about these factors, and see how the research impacted our educational master plan for the U.S. Virgin Islands.
