Kimpton Debuts Nebraska Hotel

Following the $75 million renovation of Omaha’s historic Blackstone Hotel, the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel debuted in November in the city’s reemerging Blackstone District.

The property has been named an Omaha Landmark and an entry on the National Register of Historic Places since the 1980s, so it was important for the design teams to preserve the integrity of many of the structure’s original elements. This included restoring hand-carved terracotta columns, a marble staircase, tile flooring, and more than 800 windows. These historic details are juxtaposed with contemporary furnishings, amenities, and an art collection showcasing work by Nebraska artists.
