After nearly 140 years, Benton County Courts is getting a new home – one that reflects the County’s commitment to accessibility, efficiency, and community service. As the first step in a larger master plan for a modern government campus, the new Courthouse and District Attorney’s Office serve as a symbol of equitable justice and civic connection. Strategically located along Highway 20, the building acts as a welcoming gateway to Corvallis and a focal point for the community.
Our design emphasizes a strong connection to the outdoors and a clear architectural presence that welcomes the public. The building is positioned for easy wayfinding. Landscaped pathways and a logical parking sequence create a transparent and inviting entry experience.
Upon entering the courthouse, guests are greeted by a spacious lobby with clear sightlines to public functions, intuitive wayfinding, and access to four courtrooms across three stories. The layout ensures that anyone attending court or seeking county services can easily navigate the building. Circulation systems are divided between public and private zones, enhancing both security and operational efficiency.
Inside, the courthouse offers a secure and tranquil environment overlooking the Willamette River. Staff and visitors benefit from natural light, outdoor amenities, and direct pedestrian access to the walkable city outside. The separation of Courts and District Attorney workspaces supports confidentiality and workflow, while the building’s organization fosters a calm, purposeful experience for all users.
