(SEATTLE, May 15, 2025) – Three senior principals, 27 principals, 51 senior associates and 111 associates were recently appointed at DLR Group, a 100% employee-owned global integrated design firm. Each year, leaders across the firm are recognized in these ownership roles for excelling in their careers and elevating DLR Group’s designs, culture, and strategic goals.
Senior Principals
DLR Group senior principals are respected leaders within the design industry and mentors who play a key role in establishing and realizing the firm’s strategic goals. Less than 2% of the firm’s more than 1,700 staff hold this critical leadership title.

Don Barnum, AIA
Global Sports Leader Don Barnum is one of the most respected sports architects in the United States. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership, business acumen, and passion for elevating the firm’s legacy, growing Sports from a $3M sector to a $27M sector. Named a Power Player by Sports Business Journal, Barnum is a proven leader of cross-disciplinary teams and excels in guiding professional and collegiate clients through design processes that elevate the athlete and fan experience. His impact is evident in major projects such as the $270M renovation of Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and $250M renovations underway for the University of Missouri’s Memorial Stadium.

Rick Kobus, FAIA, FACHA
Rick Kobus joined DLR Group in January as part of the firm’s merger with Boston-based healthcare design leader, Tsoi Kobus Design. Named one of “25 Most Influential People in Healthcare Design” by Healthcare Design Magazine, he was instrumental in establishing Tsoi Kobus Design as one of the country’s leading healthcare-focused design firms, with industry leadership in medical planning and design. His team’s expertise in designing cutting-edge clinical and educational spaces that foster knowledge discovery is enhancing DLR Group’s global healthcare and higher education studios.

Jason Majerus, PE, CEM
Jason Majerus leads the firm‘s mechanical engineering practice. He maximizes the value of DLR Group’s integrated design solutions and advances its commitment to sustainability. Leading multidisciplinary teams on an array of complex projects, he oversees project development, energy analysis, design engineering specifications, construction administration, and commissioning. He has earned national recognition for his expertise, particularly in energy-efficient building design. Majerus enhances DLR Group’s projects and helps realize its vision and strategic goals through his creative problem solving and leadership in building decarbonization.

DLR Group principals consistently demonstrate the firm’s core values while proactively leading the firm to new levels. The 2025 class of principals includes 27 individuals representing architecture, engineering, interior design, planning, and specialty design services.

Since the previous year’s appointments, strong organic growth, merger and acquisition activity, and leadership transitions brought additional leaders into the firm with appointments on-hire.
