Tsoi Kobus Design was founded on a belief in the power of technology and the promise it holds for knowledge discovery. From the early days of their practice, they applied rigor and beauty in equal measure to the design of technologically complex healthcare and life science projects. Tsoi Kobus Design’s 40-year legacy of award-winning design champions technical soundness, comfort, dignity, and inspiration.
The firm’s founding partners, Ed Tsoi and Rick Kobus, are fixtures of Boston’s architecture and design community, having taught at Boston College and Harvard, and held leadership positions at Boston Society of Architects, the local chapter of AIA, and Arlington and Boston city design commissions.
Tsoi Kobus Design’s legacy influenced the next generation of healthcare, medical education, and life sciences design with major research institutions including Brown University, Bucknell University, Columbia University, SUNY, and Yale University. Medical campuses such as Boston Health, Henry Ford Health, and the Moffit Center partnered with Tsoi Kobus Design, as well as premiere commercial clients including Jackson Genomics and BioMed Realty.
