Fire Rescue Station #3
Gainesville Fire Rescue Fire Station #3 is a 21,563-SF new construction replacement of an outdated and undersized 62-year-old facility. The new two-story, three-bay station features concrete tilt-wall construction. The exterior envelope is designed to withstand Category 5 hurricane winds, windborne debris, floods, and blast impacts. The second floor contains offices, a conference room, bunk rooms, laundry, showers, and a covered porch. A large dayroom with a patio, a commercial kitchen, and a fitness room support staff camaraderie and wellness. Flexible programming allows the station to provide adaptive emergency response services and grow according to future community needs.
Southwest Public Safety Annex
Our design uses best practices for essential service facilities in Florida. In addition to expanded public safety resources, the new facility provides an important community gathering space. Designed with resilience and civic presence in mind, the Annex incorporates public art and thoughtful massing to create an approachable, community-oriented facility within a residential neighborhood.
Police Property and Evidence Building
The new fortified and climate-controlled Police Property and Evidence Storage facility replaces the existing Gainesville Police Department building. The building includes a second-floor secure staff connection to police headquarters, ensuring protected circulation and immediate access to the evidence processing lab. The secure facility is situated between GPD Headquarters and an established Rails to Trails greenway that bisects the GPD campus. Public art, sensitive use of metal panels, and color matched brick incorporated into the façade reinforces the GPD campus identity while offering an engaging civic experience to trail users and the community.
