Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, is being modernized to position it as a future-ready, industry-leading venue for multipurpose events. The project extends the stadium’s relevance by upgrading infrastructure, extending its life cycle, and redefining the fan experience from arrival to departure. Capacity expands to 65,000, with improved circulation, access, and amenities for greater comfort and engagement. A new architectural identity unifies the original structure and later expansions through a climate-responsive brise-soleil facade, reducing sun exposure and leveraging prevailing winds for passive comfort. Programmable lighting allows the stadium to echo the spirit of events and civic moments. The design emphasizes flexibility, with upgraded seating, structural systems, and operations enabling rapid transformation for sports, concerts, and community gatherings, while new premium experiences support operational efficiency and revenue.
The renovation covers 650,000 SF, addressing infrastructure, code, accessibility, and cost efficiency while expanding the stadium’s versatility. Upgrades include seating, structural systems, circulation, a north bowl expansion, and stadium-wide building systems.
Selective demolition and revitalization of upper bowls and concourses preserve existing construction to reduce embodied carbon and improve comfort, sightlines, safety, and ADA accessibility. The Terrace Level concourse is replaced and expanded for increased capacity and amenities. A new North Endzone Tower connects, once bifurcated, suite and terrace levels, adding escalators and premium seating, while retractable seating intervention in the south lower bowl allows rapid event conversion. Additional improvements include new and renovated suites, a north end zone club, upgraded audiovisual and MEP systems, enhanced arrival sequences, and a redesigned façade with integrated programmable lighting. South end upgrades focus on operational efficiency with a new loading dock, command center, and expanded support spaces. Sustainability is advanced through durable materials, optimized operations, and strategic reuse of existing structures, with DLR Group providing architecture, interiors, wayfinding / signage design, and reality capture services.
