The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum preserves and celebrates the rich history of African American baseball, ensuring the legacy of the Negro Leagues and the pioneering athletes remain alive for generations. We supported the museum’s fundraising efforts for a new Kansas City headquarters facility with the pro bono design of a diverse range of branded merchandise. The design series features the Kansas City Monarchs’ renowned players including Buck O’Neil, Satchel Paige, Ernie Banks, Cool “Papa” Bell, and Jackie Robinson. The final print includes a comprehensive list of all players who have worn the Monarchs’ uniform during its tenure as the longest running Negro League franchise from 1920 to 1965. While expressive illustrations of the players take center stage in the design, bold team colors are complemented by a banner honoring their two world-series championships and 12 league titles.
The design elements have been purposefully chosen to facilitate easy conversion to a broad range of branded merchandise, such as mugs, t-shirts, buttons, patches, and tote bags. This strategic approach expands the appeal and reach, generating additional fundraising revenue. We provided experiential graphic design services.
