The renovated Metro Tech High School reimagines a historic campus as a bold, future-focused environment that elevates both core academic and career and technical education. Our design creates dynamic learning environments by reorganizing existing buildings with flexible classrooms and operable partitions, introducing advanced CTE labs equipped for hands-on technical instruction, and integrating dedicated performing arts.
Building decades of legacy, the project introduces a state-of-the-art competition gym and enhanced athletic facilities that energize campus life. Strategic site planning strengthens connectivity by organizing clear circulation routes, designated drop-off zones, and intuitive wayfinding that links renovated buildings, new athletic facilities, and shared spaces across campus. These improvements streamline movement and separate pedestrian and vehicular traffic for increased safety.
Through careful phasing and collaboration, the project sequenced construction to reduce disruption to daily campus operations while prioritizing key renovations. By retaining and enhancing the existing campus, the design preserves the school’s longstanding role as a center for both academic and career-focused learning while positioning it for future growth. Our approach prioritizes student wellbeing through sustainable design, energy efficient systems, and improved indoor environments, including HVAC systems, enhanced daylight, and improved acoustics to support comfort and focus. Renovations included a grand central stair, modernized interiors, and upgraded building systems, ensuring each space feels cohesive, welcoming, and purposeful.
