Answering the need for home infusion market growth, DLR Group|Salus was engaged to remodel and develop an existing office building to accommodate additional, needed multipurpose space for Providence’s Spokane Valley Infusion Pharmacy.

The new facility allows for multi-purpose use that includes services ranging from receiving pharmaceutical requests, compounding both standard and hazardous drugs, assembly of products, and distribution to both home and community infusion sites. The project also provides a nine-chair Ambulatory Infusion Center on-site directly serviced by the pharmacy within the building and provides other support services including a large contingent of operational staff services and an administrative center.

The new capabilities of the pharmacy require USP 797 and USP 800 compliance, and substantial product mobilizing capability to receive, store, sort, and assemble various drugs as they are needed to supply orders. The conversion of the existing tilt-up concrete structure required the building to receive a full cosmetic upgrade inside and outside as well as complete functional rehabilitation. Newly developed shipping and distribution paving services were provided on-site as well as increased parking capacities for both staff and patient use. Internally, the building now features state-of-the-art communications systems as a call center, compounding room, and administrative offices, as well as a comfortable environment of care for the patient infusion area.
