DLR Group to Present on Fundraising for Historic Theater Renovations
Join DLR Group at the upcoming League of Historic American Theatres 48th National Conference & Theatre Tour in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Principal and Senior Design Leader Raymond Kent, Assoc. AIA will moderate a panel discussion entitled “Show Me the Money!” alongside Principal and Project Manager Todd Mayher, AIA.
The goal of the panel discussion is to understand the fundraising challenges for historic theater renovations in today’s market and strategies to overcome them. Panelists will share the fundraising stories of two historic theaters: the Historic New Granada Theatre in the Hill District of Pittsburgh and the mid-20th century Arts United Theatre in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Participants will learn about Historic Tax Credits, New Market Tax Credits, REDI Grants, foundation grants, private donors, and public campaigns, ultimately understanding how to coordinate strategies to create a capital stack that leads to successfully funded theater renovations.
Panelists include Irvin Henderson, Owner’s Representative for Henderson and Company, Marimba Milliones, President and CEO of Hill Community Development Corporation, Miriam Morgan, COO and VP of Operations for Arts United, and Dan Ross, President and CEO of Arts United.
The panel discussion will be held on the third day of the conference, Tuesday, July 9, from 2:00 to 3:15 PM. during the Tools and Techniques Segment 4. DLR Group will also be exhibiting during the Expo & Reception on the first day of the conference, Monday, July 8 from 3:45 to 6:15 PM.
