Architecture

Located beside the Mayo Clinic campus, the eight-story Hilton Jacksonville serves patients, families, and travelers seeking comfort near one of the nation’s leading medical centers. The wooded site and surrounding ponds informed the architecture, with warm wood tones, stone piers, and vertical battens establishing a rhythm that echoes the rows of indigenous trees. Expansive glazing reflects the landscape and anchors the hotel within its natural setting.

Accessibility shaped the design from the outset. Zero-curb access from parking to entry, smooth flooring transitions, and layouts that reduce mobility obstacles create a welcoming environment for guests of all abilities, including those navigating a wheelchair for the first time. The 252-room hotel also includes a destination restaurant, meeting and event rooms, fitness center, and a pool retreat, extending hospitality beyond the guestroom and reinforcing a sense of restoration and ease.

DLR Group provided architecture services, with HVS Design servicing as interior designer.

Designed for Rest and Reflection

Interior design by HVS Design extends the architectural narrative, translating the building’s connection to landscape into calming palettes, organic forms, and layered lighting that shape spaces for rest and reflection. Soft blues and greens, natural textures, leather-accented millwork, and artisan tile introduce warmth and depth, while preserved greenery and locally inspired artwork connect guests to Jacksonville’s coastal setting.
