DLR Group to Present Student Wellbeing Session at SCUP Conference
Join our team at the Society for College and University Planning’s 2023 Annual Conference in Cleveland.
Principal and Campus Planning Leader, Linsey Graff and Senior Associate and Senior Planner Woody Giles, AICP, LEED AP, will be presenting a session titled, “Where I Belong: Creating Spaces to Foster Student Wellbeing”.
This session will tell the story of how two institutions aligned their resources and planned for existing facilities to better serve student well-being with ample engagement to meet diverse needs. Discover how you can work with existing buildings to foster belonging and provide services while engaging the campus community to navigate competing expectations among diverse groups.
Learning outcomes include:
- Navigate difficult conversations to develop strategies that serve the physical space and health needs of students from all backgrounds.
- Engage diverse decision-makers and users to meet students where they are and foster well-being on campus.
- Invite students and staff into a conversation around how existing space uses and future design can serve historically marginalized groups.
- Transform physical campus facilities to meet students’ needs for belonging, engagement, and well-being.
They will be accompanied by co-presenters, including Georgia Institute of Technology’s Vice President for Student Engagement & Well-being, Luoluo Hong, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Vice Chancellor/Chief of Student Affairs, Tony Rathgeber.
Linsey and Woody’s session will be on the second day of the conference, Monday, July 31 from 2:50 – 3:50 PM.
