​​UNC Health Blue Ridge–Valdese is a health center bringing a higher level of medical expertise to residents of Burke County and surrounding communities. Prior to the addition and remodel, the oncology services were provided in two buildings on site which was difficult for staff and confusing for patients. The strong belief that personalized care makes the patient experience the most memorable of this advanced, comprehensive, community-based cancer center informed the design. By listening and collaborating with the medical staff, DLR Group executed a design focused on patient care and functionality without compromising aesthetics.
