DLR Group to Present at CCFC 30th Annual Conference
Join our team at the upcoming Community College Facility Coalition 30th Annual Conference in Sacramento, California.
Principal and Higher Education Leader Leigh Anne Jones, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, will be presenting a session titled, “Equitable Sustainability Planning Across Three Different Campus in One District”. She will be accompanied by Riverside Community College District, commonly referred to as RCCD, co-presenters Hussain Agah, Majd Askar, and Kristine Di Memmo.
RCCD will present their holistic and innovative approach to sustainability and climate change across 3 unique campuses — each at different levels of understanding and implementation abilities — and how they created the Sustainability and Climate Action Plan, data-driven components within it, and lessons learned along the way to Board Approval.
The Sustainability and Climate Action Plan is a state-of-art implementable roadmap toward RCCD’s sustainability goals and establishes the district as a leader in Environmental Stewardship. It is aligned with the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education Stars, a reporting framework connecting sustainability in the built environment and academics. The Sustainability and Climate Action Plan includes an Integrated Energy Master Plan and a Total Cost of Ownership Model and dashboards developed to review real-time progress.
Learning objectives include:
- Create a unique framework and rating system to develop actionable items around sustainability;
- Describe the AASHE Stars reporting framework and how it is used in the RCCD plan;
- Identify the data needed to create a final TCO Model that can inform decision making across the institutional committees;
- Illustrate the Lessons Learned and takeaways from; the shared governance process; data-collection, analysis and benchmarking phase; and the TCO dashboard transfer to the district.
Leigh Anne’s session will be on the third day of the conference, Wednesday, November 8 from 9:15 AM – 10:30 AM.
