Hesperia USD Unveils New Center for the Arts
(Hesperia, Calif., April 7, 2026) – The doors are open to Hesperia Unified School District’s new Center for the Arts. The district, its supportive community, and project partners celebrated with a ribbon cutting on April 7, 2026. The new 40,500-SF center designed by DLR Group delivers on a commitment to bring a world-class performing arts complex to Hesperia students and the community.
Anchored by a 540‑seat performance theater, the Center for the Arts is a fully equipped, multifaceted venue supporting every aspect of the performing arts. The facility features dedicated spaces for band, choral, and technical theater programs, a flexible black box theater, set design and production areas, and a community resource center that offers wellness services to students and the broader community. Students gain hands‑on experience in acting, music, stage management, lighting, and production design, supported by advanced features such as a 20‑by‑40‑foot LED backdrop for digital scenery and immersive storytelling. Informed by district stakeholders and Hesperia residents, the building’s design draws inspiration from the Mojave River and the San Bernardino Mountains, creating a future‑focused learning environment that prepares students for the evolving performing arts industry.
The Center for the Arts, along with new tennis courts, upgraded netting and poles, enhanced landscaping, and improved fencing, represents a major investment in Hesperia USD’s students and the broader community. The new resource center is a core for wellness services for both students, as well as the greater community. Serving more than 2,000 students across the High Desert, the district now offers access to creative, educational, and collaborative opportunities at a scale never before available in the region. The center’s professional-quality venue and flexible gathering spaces establish it as a hub for artistic expression, community engagement, and future-focused experiences.
