DLR Group Science+Technology Grows Leaders and Clients Coast-to-Coast
(KANSAS CITY, Missouri, April 13, 2023) – From quantum computing to RNA-based personalized medicine and nuclear fusion, 2022 saw breakthroughs in the science and technology industries’ aim to solve humanity’s most complex problems. DLR Group is part of that trajectory, adding Science+Technology leaders in New York and Seattle to connect an impressive body of new client partners with scientific environments designed for discovery.
Recent project awards with Vanderbilt University and others will add new clinical, pathology, and S/TEM labs to these research-forward campuses. In Colorado, the firm’s work will expand Colorado BioScience Association Rising Star of the Year awardee Enveda Biosciences’ presence with an advanced drug discovery and development center. And in Washington and California, one Fortune 50 technology giant has dedicated DLR Group laboratory planners helping them realize a digital revolution. These compelling projects are backed by a growing team with expanded leadership.
Across twenty years, Principal and Science+Technology Design Leader Gene Graff, AIA, LEED AP, has guided the design of over 15 million SF around the globe. Gene has expertise in translating scientific processes into facilities for commercializing fusion energy; advancing cancer research; connecting federal, institutional, and private partners to progress large-system prototypes; and more.
Senior Associate and Science+Technology Leader Burcin Moehring, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, brings decades of experience designing labs for four-year public and private higher education institutions. Her expertise is state-of-the-art laboratories that emphasize advanced sustainable design concepts.
Education and advocacy are also part of the firm’s Science+Technology growth strategy. Principal and Global Science+Technology Leader Chris Ertl, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, and Senior Associate Dave Swanson, RA, recently shared lessons learned in converting existing building stock into tomorrow’s high performance labs with attendees of the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories’ annual conference. Burcin is an influential industry leader in professional organizations including AIA Seattle, the Society for College and University Planning, and the International Institute of Sustainable Labs.
DLR Group is proud to be partners in a growing group of clients’ incredible journeys. With Gene and Burcin expanding an already strong team, we look forward to having a significant impact on the Science+Technology market in 2023 and beyond.”
