(Morganton, N.C., February 16, 2024) – UNC Health Blue Ridge Cancer Center was awarded a top prize at the annual ABC Carolinas Chapter 2023 Excellence in Construction Awards. The Eagle Award for Healthcare Construction Project ($25 million to $50 million) was recently awarded to the Center at the annual awards gala.

UNC Health Blue Ridge–Valdese is a 35,000-SF health center bringing a higher level of medical expertise to residents of Burke County and surrounding communities. Previously in multiple buildings, this addition and remodel provided oncology services under one roof creating a better experience for patients and staff. The strong belief that personalized care makes the patient experience the most memorable of this advanced, comprehensive, community-based cancer center informed the design. By listening and collaborating with the medical staff, DLR Group | WMBA executed a design focused on patient care and functionality without compromising aesthetics.
