Location is everything for Palmer Park at the University of Virginia. The softball stadium is situated in the heart of the university’s athletic campus, paying respect to the program and its student-athletes. This high-profile site creates an urban edge and pedestrian scale to this area of campus, and brings all player development, training, and competition needs to one location. It naturally creates a fan-friendly seating bowl design with fixed seating, bermed seating, and open concourses to give fans great views to the field as well as the Virginia mountains.

This 500-seat softball stadium is designed with expansion capabilities to host the College World Series Regionals. Our design for the stadium exterior aesthetic uses traditional stone and red brick as the base, drawing from the architecture of the surrounding sports facilities and history and legacy of the UVA campus. The sweeping white roof ties the entire facility together with one simple gesture.  We partnered with VMDO on the design of this facility.
