Join our team at the upcoming Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo in Austin, Texas. Senior Associate and Healthcare Project Manager Heather Beard, AIA, ACHA, and Senior Associate and Healthcare Project Manager Sara Cheikelard, AIA, EDAC, will present a session titled “Delivering Healthcare to UNC Health Blue Ridge: Master Planning Two Campuses.” Their session will explore our approach to the master planning of the Morganton and Valdese campuses at UNC Health Blue Ridge and the complexities of master planning within a changing hospital system.

Learning objectives include:

  • Understanding how to evaluate a hospital system’s needs and translate them to an action plan.
  • Reacting to and adjusting master planning to the changing needs of the client and delivery of care.
  • Developing consensus between the hospital front-line teammates, medical staff, administrators, board, and community.
  • Learning how to implement growth strategies into existing facilities and creative reuse of space.

Heather and Sara will be accompanied by Deanne Avery, Director of Capital Projects, Planning, Design, & Construction at UNC Health Blue Ridge.

The session will be held on the second day of the conference, Wednesday, September 25 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
